When my grandfather passed away recently I inherited his tools. He came from a generation of hard men used to grinding manual labour (he was a carpenter), who fought in World War 2 as teenagers, who knew hunger and hardship, who thrived on principles and discipline and never showed their sensitive side. "Brute" is an ode to the old man.

On "Eternal" I took advantage of the fact that my dear friend L_cio from Sao Paulo was staying at my place with his wife for a night during his European tour last year. Not only is he one of D-Edge's resident dj's but also a fantastic jazz flutist. Ever since hearing his coproduction with Portable on the Robert Johnson imprint ("A Process") I was itching to get him into my studio for a few flute takes. His contribution to "Eternal" is the icing on the cake that really makes this cinematic, meandering piece work.
